Your First Week was probably a little crazy and you might feel as if you’re looking out over the cliff. But now that you’ve got some of the “administrative” type things out of the way (joining the board, signing up for ZipForms, purchasing some “getting started” items) it will all start to make more sense and flow more smoothly.
You probably want to get the word out about your new career. But before you can really do that, you’ve still got to get some of the building blocks in place. You can do that in your second week.
Read this handout Sphere of Influence Marketing and use the guide at the end to make a list of your own personal sphere. In this SECOND WEEK, you’ll just be making your list. In the weeks to come, we’ll show you how to put this list into action.
Have you been meaning to sign up for ZipForms but haven’t done it yet? Now is the time! Have you created your first IABS? No? Now is the time!
If you want to skip ahead, visit Your Third Week / Your Fourth Week / Your Next Month
Your sphere is most likely where you will get your first deals in real estate. You should always have a plan to grow this sphere and implement this strategy faithfully, because your sphere will become a huge source of repeat and referral business over time and throughout your career.
Read this handout Sphere of Influence Marketing and use the guide at the end to make a list of your own personal sphere. In this SECOND WEEK, you’ll just be making your list. In the weeks to come, we’ll show you how to put this list into action.

Chances are, your first clients will be buyers so it’s a good idea to get prepared and have a good idea for what happens during a showing appointment.
Whether you are a new or experienced agent, finding buyers to work with is an integral part of a successful real estate business. There are a variety of ways to increase the number of buyers you have as clients. Check out:
Review the document “Your First Showing Appointment” also available on the Dashboard, Learn tab > Learning Resources > New Agent? Start Here.
Download the MLS Touch App (for your smart phone) to access MLS listings on the go!
It’s also a good idea to learn the Basics of Residential Leases as leases are a great way to get started without all the pressure of a purchase offer. Here is a video walk-through: Click Here.
Download the TexasTitle One app for title and escrow closing fee calculators, buyer and seller fee calculators, infographics, videos and user interactive shareable calculators.
Now that you’ve watched some ZipForm videos or taken the training with an on-line instructor (you did that in your first week, right?), now is the time to put that training to use by writing a practice contract.
Imagine going out to show houses to a client, and the most wonderful thing happens…they love one and want to put in an offer! But the listing agent says they have been getting a lot of activity and you’d better hurry before another offer comes in.
Yikes! You don’t want to be stuck trying to watch videos and write your first contract in such a time crunch. So be smart and write at least one practice contract ahead of time.
Use our sample contracts as a guide. They’re available on the Dashboard, Learn tab > Learning Resources > Sample Contracts.
If you don’t have a friend or family member to practice your digital signatures with, you are welcome to use the broker or office manager.
It’s vital that you go through the process and learn to use digital signatures. Not doing so will make you look like a rookie but more importantly, it will cause great inconvenience for your clients and you don’t want that.
Watch these three videos below to learn how to prepare to write a 1 – 4 Family Contract, how to use ZipForms to do so and how to use eSignatures.
Spend some time watching the ZipForms training videos:
Spend some time on the Dashboard/Workspace reviewing how Ready Real Estate contracts are written. We have several samples that are filled out for you to use as a reference. That way, instead of asking “what should I put in THIS blank?” you can just look at the sample and get quick answer.
You can find the samples on the WorkSpace by clicking the Hamburger Menu on the top right hand side, and then click “Shared Docs”. Then go to the “Sample Contracts” folder and you’ll see a variety of samples.
And if you need more help, you can always contact the broker directly using the “HeyTell” app.
Ready Real Estate is a smarter kind of real estate company. That’s because we use today’s technology to help our agents become more efficient and effective.
